Not playing today, but some thoughts…
For anyone who cares, my PS screen name is samiam1985. I’m giving it some thought and since I really want to try to use good bankroll management, I’ll try to get at least 250 and take out $75. This leaves me with over 25 buyins (including fees) so I could hopefully do something with that. I’ll need to come up with some interesting hands in the next week so I can actually post some. I haven’t really had any other than seeing some craziness that occurs at the micro/low level I’m at. In the 15/30 level of the sng, EP raised, LP reraised allin and the EP player called. It was a 37offsuit vs. 92suited showdown. Both players had 2000 in chips and we were still 9 handed, though the fact that they already had that many chips indicates they are probably loose. I was still baffled and it made me realize I need to play my top game and always put the money in when I have the goods, no bluffing here.
It’s really sad when I can’t wait until the $10 sng level so I can make more money. Almost sounds pathetic, but I know I have to start from somewhere. Might as well be the bottom. My hope is that by the end of the summer I can comfortably sit at the $10 sngs. Man I wish I could make a faster move, but I can only play so many a day with a girlfriend and physics research all day.
And I guess if any of you care, a little bio:
I’m a 21 year old student at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA with math and physics as a double major and computer science as a minor. I’ll be getting married in a year and hopefully will have a job by then. I only started playing serious poker at the end of 2006 when a friend of mine was playing and winning big and I wanted to know why (if you care he was allintowin14 on bodog before I stopped playing because of scholl and he was out of his bankroll. thepokerdb him, he did pretty well for not even a full year, at least I think so). He got me interested and from there I started to learn. Read a lot of books and forums and now I’m at cardrunners trying to do what I can. We’ll see where it takes me. Good luck to you all and I’ll post some hands soon.
